Dr. Paola Lorenzi

With over twenty years of professional experience in the production and promotion of cultural and artistic events, this dynamic university professor has a proven track record and cultivated expertise in developing and launching unique, high quality, international artistic projects, concerts, and cultural events. She has implemented an entrepreneurial approach  to effectively and innovatively manage and guide the development and fruition of the most demanding projects. 

In 2013 and 2014 she collaborated with Maestro Andrea Morricone to produce two groundbreaking concerts, the first in Rome and the second in Los Angeles; and, she also lyricized several Morricone compositions including powerful new renditions of Ave Maria and the Nuovo Cinema Paradiso Love Theme, entitled, "You."

In 2012 she collaborated with Cindy Nelson Mullen and writer/director Michael Taverna of MonteCristo International as Associate Producer of the feature film, "Apartment 1303."

As  a private university educator, Paola enjoyed the status of Assistant Professor of Italian and Director of Italian Studies Program at Pepperdine University.  During her tenure there, her visionary spirit led her to successfully establish through keen collaborations and fund-raising savvy, a minor and a Bachelor of Arts in Italian Studies, a pioneering accomplishment and laudable legacy.

Throughout her career in academia, in addition to curriculum development and fundraising to support the Italian Program, Paola successfully orchestrated and promoted a variety of Italian cultural events, collaborating with outstanding, iconic individuals, in every facet of Italian culture.  Such collaborations have included events with Dacia Maraini, Ducati, Erri De Luca, Michelangelo Antonioni, Francesco Quinn, Bill Conti, and Professor Pedretti to name a few.

A native of Italy, Paola received her Laurea in Foreign Languages and Literature from the University of Florence.  She then attended Art Center College of Design in Pasadena, California for post-graduate studies in art, design and photography.

In 2007, the Italian government bestowed her with the distinguished title “Knight of the Italian Republic” for remarkable achievements in her field.

In 2009, she published her first book, Italia: Civiltà e Cultura” with University Press of America - a comprehensive discourse of historical, cultural and cinematic development on the Italian peninsula.

Paola is presently affiliated with several key professional and cultural organizations including Women in Film, International Documentary Association, Film Independent, National Italian American Foundation, Los Angeles Philharmonic, and local governmental institutions such as the Italian Consulate, Italian Culture Institute and the Italian Film Commission.
